Favre to Retire

Brett Favre has retired, again. According to reports Favre had informed the New York Jets that he is retiring. Favre played one season in New York after the Jets acquired the future Hall of Fame quarterback in an offseason trade with the Green Bay Packers. After a tremendous start with the Jets last season, Favre and the team collapsed down the stretched and failed to make the playoffs. After the season, the team fired coach Eric Mangini, and Thomas Jones publicly criticized Favre’s play. In his final NFL season, Favre threw 22 touchdown passes and a league-high 22 interceptions, but did lead the Jets to a 9-7 record, a five game improvement over the year before.
